Amor Proyecto y Misión (AMOR Proyecto) has a campus at Kilometer 8 in the eastern jungle city of Pucallpa.  It’s main focus is doing

 GYC Peru (Generation Youth for Christ) operates at Kilometer 17  in Pucallpa.  The main focus of GYC Peru is community service, education and evangelism.

Why should I go on a mission trip with AMOR Projects?
AMOR Projects has two goals:

1) to help trip participants get exposure to medical work to assist in their career decisions

2) to get people excited about serving others and to gain insight into how people live in this area of the world. We focus on the details and logistics so that you can focus on the experience and the relationships formed.

TRIP INFORMATIÓN

  • 1. Groups working with AMOR Proyecto will be participating in medical/dental outreach at the clinic at Kilometer 8, as well as at outlying villages.

  • 2.The groups are typically made up of medical professionals and young people interested in service.

  • 3.Those with no specific medical training will rotate through different areas, including taking vital signs, assisting in the pharmacy, counting out medications to be handed out, shadowing medical/dental providers. They can also assist in the eye clinic if it is being offered that day.

  • 4.Those who speak Spanish can also help with registration and triage, getting the patient’s contact information, and help the Bible worker with spiritual outreach.

  • 5.Groups working with GYC Peru will be participating in Vacation Bible School, health evangelism outreach, building projects, Bible studies, and evangelistic campaigns.

US Passport: it is required for your passport to be valid for at least 6 months past the date you plan to return. Also Tourist visas are granted for free from customs in Lima.

The climate of Pucallpa is tropical, hot all year round, with a relatively dry season from June to August, the austral winter, when night temperatures also drop a little.

$325.00 for Project Expenses Plus $70.00 for meals.

All volunteers will stay at the dorm and duplex located at Kilometer 8 in Pucallpa.One to two cooks will be employed to cook three wholesome vegetarian meals for all participants.

In addition to outreach activities, one day is set aside so that volunteers will be able to participate in fun activities such as a trip by “peke peke” (traditional motorized canoe) to visit “La Jungla Zoo”
