“When a Helping Hand Meets a Broken Arm: Juan’s Path to Recovery”

Juan is a cheerful boy who helps his mom every day at the market selling refreshments. His family has been poor for a long time, resulting in Juan being in a state of malnutrition with fragile bones . One afternoon on his way back from school he tripped and tried to catch himself on his left hand. A terrible pain shot through his arm as the bones in his lower arm shattered.
His mom was very frightened when she saw what had happened. They did not have money to seek medical care for Juan. His father works as a motorcycle taxi driver, and his mother is fully occupied selling products at the market. Then one of her other children reminded her about the AMOR Projects Clinic. Grateful for the potential of getting help, Juan’s mother immediately brought him to the clinic.

Unfortunately, when Juan arrived with his mother, we realized that his injury was more serious than what we are equipped to deal with. We decided to take Juan to the hospital so he could get an X-ray and determine the severity of the injury, with AMOR Projects covering the cost. Unfortunately the results showed that surgery was necessary in order to set the bones straight again, otherwise the arm would possibly not be able to be used normally in the future. Again AMOR Projects stepped into the financial void. With our support, pins were surgically inserted into his arm and the bones were set straight and held firm.
Juan’s family is deeply grateful for the assistance provided, as it allowed them to overcome a difficult moment and help their son avoid having a hándicap, this giving him a better chance at having a good future.
Thank you, donors, for your help. Even behind the scenes, the money that you donate helps touch lives—even years from when the help was received. Thank you for helping provide a brighter future for Juan by providing medical care for him.
